Mothers Group Leaders

How did 23 Mothers Group Leaders Unite?

Aug 23, 2018

On Wednesday August 14, 2018, our ministry hosted a brainstorming session and planning meeting for Mothers Group Leaders in the Archdiocese of Toronto. We began the day trying to answer this question:

Is a Mothers Group Leader an artist or a soldier?

What do you think? Do you consider yourself more of an artist in running your Mothers Group or a soldier?  We had some lively discussions for sure!

There were 23 Mothers Group Leaders that came, learning, sharing ideas and being inspired. We had a couple of prospective Mothers Group Leaders join us too! Some sent their regrets because of the long commute to All Saints parish in Etobicoke, where the meeting was being held. We will be hosting a second smaller session in the east end of our archdiocese to accommodate our Mothers Group Leaders in Whitby, Ajax and Scarborough in the early fall.

We are hoping that next year we can figure out the technology to let Mothers Group Leaders participate remotely. It’s all very exciting.

Since the meeting was being held on August 14, 2018,  St. Maximilian Kolbe’s feast day, we thought it fitting to ask Kalina Rachwal the Mothers Group Leader,  from St. Maximilian Kolbe to give a reflection on St. Maximilian Kolbe, Daina Koly, the Mothers Group Leader from Christ the King reviewed the results from the questionnaire that was administered to moms in our ministry. Paola Marshall, the Mothers Group Leader at St. Christopher’s parish, talked about her first had experience with the controversial sex ed curriculum.

We reviewed many exciting new developments in our ministry.
It was a jam packed full morning!

While I would love to share all the news today, here and now, I am a little stretched, so I can’t go over them right now.

Recently our ministry administered a questionnaire to all the moms in our network of Mothers Groups. We learned a lot and we shared a ton of information that will help with planning our 2018-2019 year with our team.

We love connecting Mothers Group Leaders, we want your feedback, we want to hear what you need to help your Mothers Group thrive!

Tell us what’s working, what’s not working and how we can help YOU as a Mothers Group Leader.
